Keith and I got our engagement pics taken on Friday.   All props to Danae for her terrific photography!

The tree had aphids, and they got in my hair!

I have an appointment with a nutritionist today.  And that is a really good thing.  I'm getting so sick of being hungry all the time.  I know I should be thankful that I don't have more serious problems, but sometimes I seriously just want to sit down and cry because I feel like my stomach is taking over my life.  Plus, I'm running out of money cause I can't afford to feed myself!!  I am praying that I'll get some answers today about how I can manage my hypoglycemia (without spending my whole paycheck at Winco.  Hahaha!!)

Keith and I booked our reception site and officially set our wedding date yesterday!  Sunday, July 23, 2006!!  I'm really excited to start planning the fun stuff now, like making decorations and booking the band.  Fun Fun Fun!!  I'm going to be married in almost exactly 9 months!

One more reason I hate chemistry:  coffee shop baristas mocking me after I get out of Ochem lab with goggle imprints on my face:  "Did you just get back from a ski trip?"

Not to make this a Bridal Blog or anything, but I bought my dress on Saturday!  You guys--it is so beautiful!  I want to wear it right now!!  Too bad it takes 5 months to come in from the designer.

One week and one day of school down already. Where does time go?  I'm a lot less stressed this week, thankfully.  Classes are going well and my new roommates are awesome.  It may just be a good year!

Oh--my car got backed into yesterday.  It has a dent in the driver's door.   The only fortunate part about the whole thing is that it was my work supervisor who did it...so at least I know the person.  My poor car.  It needs some loving.

Back from my Xanga sabbatical!  Although, with the creation of  various websites (http://keithandrachel.com  for instance)  I may be transferring my stories to another location in the near future.
So!  Big announcement of the summer for anyone who has not yet heard.....

Keith and I are engaged!!!

We haven't quite set a date yet...but we're planning on having the wedding next July.  I can't wait to be married.  I think we'll have a lot of fun together!! None of that boring "settling down" for us.  We're praying about living in the Dominican Republic for a while after we're married, so we'll see where that takes us.  In the meantime, there is a wedding to be planned, and I must admit that it is very different than what I imagined.  I used to think it would be so exhilerating to plan every detail of my wedding, but now I'm finding that:
1.  It is a lot of work
            and
2.  I'd really rather just enjoy being engaged and not have to think about whether this dress is The One  or that reception site is It.

So, I guess I feel like I've been slightly disillusioned from my girlish dreams of what planning my wedding would be like.  And as excited as I am about getting to marry my best friend, I am hoping that things won't change too much.  I don't want to lose any of my girl or guy friends, because I'm going to need them more than ever!!

Right now I'm in Ashland with my mom.  We're going on a trip that she presented me with, for my 21st birthday.  We are going to see two plays in the next couple days, including Love's Labor's Lost (Shakespeare) and Room Service (a 1938 comedy).   After this we'll be traveling up the coast and spending the night near Brookings and then I'll be home on Sunday!    Just in time for school.
Yay to seeing my friends.
Nay to academia and all that it entails.
